TyG of HVW8 sent me this video from behind the screen of the back door to the HVW8 gallery months and months ago. It was a homeless guy that he said would pop up back there and beatbox. Clearly this is more than beatboxing. With the help of Stones Throw they were able to record Red and put out a single. It’s so LA, reminds me of the days when I was wearing Vamp lipstick, curly nails and pushing my bangs straight up in the air. See here:

My only question is, why was TyG hiding behind that screen door??

Lately I haven’t been able to get Freeze’s Southern Freeze out of my head. Twilite Tone played this video of them performing on Top of the Pops and just about every other day I sing “thank you very much.” Ingrid Allman looks absolutely petrified, or maybe she just really doesn’t give a fuck. Not sure but she looks cool to me. This is before Arthur Baker got a hold of them:
