Abstract Truth
Man, these songs remind me of after hour parties in Atlanta. I don’t really know exactly the impact these songs had anywhere else, this was before you could dial into a scene on the internet and know what was going on everywhere. I think Giant Step had something to do with the success of this, (maybe a re-release, not sure) as well as Gilles Peterson, (my 12″ is on Street Wave). I wish I could take some of you guys back in time so you could see people dance to house music in ATL in the late ’90s. It was amazing, and the scene there was insane. We would be at Kaya, MJQ and Yin Yang and folks would pop up out of the blue and sing, everyone EVERYONE would dance. I feel very fortunate to have lived through those times. “We Had A Thing” just came to me in the middle of the night and I thought it would make a good blog post so here are a couple of Abstract Truth jams that bring back some good memories for me.
